MAKING A CHANGE

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” -Barack Obama

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in a rut or like you're not living the life that you want to live? Do you want to change your life but are unsure where to start?

Taking that first step can be difficult. For many of us, it comes down to fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of what others will think. We get so caught up in the what-ifs and worst-case scenarios that we never take action. But here’s the thing: change is inevitable. It’s going to happen whether we want it to or not. So, why not embrace it and learn to take more control of it?

The first thing is to recognise that although change can be scary, it can also be positive.  It allows us to grow and learn. It can help us become better versions of ourselves and open up new opportunities we may have never considered. Change can help us break out of our comfort zones and overcome our fears. And, perhaps most importantly, it can lead to greater happiness and fulfilment in our lives.

So, what’s the first step? Start by setting yourself a goal. Perhaps you're not feeling as healthy as you'd like, you're stuck in a job that's not fulfilling, or you're unhappy with your relationships. What do you want to achieve? What is the change you want to make? Once you’ve identified your goal, break it down into smaller, more manageable steps. This will help you avoid feeling overwhelmed and make the process more achievable.

Next, take action. Even if it’s just a small step, do something daily to bring you closer to your goal. This could be as simple as researching a new career or signing up for a class. The key is to keep moving forward, no matter how small the steps seem.

And don't be discouraged if you slip up or miss a day - the important thing is to keep going and celebrate every small win. With time and consistency, you'll be amazed at the positive changes these small actions can bring to your life, happiness and well-being.
